knocking noise from the rear? CLK430

My CLK430 was sitting on the driverway for 10 days out in the cold and rainy weather while I was on a vacation and when I drove the car this morning, I heard this knocking noise as the wheels would rotate. Kinda like (Knock! Knock! Knock! Knock!) I am pretty sure It was coming from the rear wheels. Between 0-10 MPH, it was like Knock.......Knock........Knock.......and over the 10MPH, it was like Knock..Knock..Knock.. I stopped the car and checked to see if anything was stuck between the wheels and under side of the rear panels but nothing. Funny thing is that the sound went away after 10-15 seconds or so and haven't heard anything since. Any ideas??

Yo say the weather was cold and rainy, meaning it wasn't snowing? Which means it wasn't cold If it had been icy, it could have been some ice or even just the tyre having a "flat spot from cold", from sitting a long time (takes some time for the tyre to warm up.

Assuming it wasn't from cold, I would guess the brake discs had rusted from rain, and differently from where the brake pads touch the discs, which goes away after some driving.

Was the car "stuck" at all when you first left, the pads may get like glued if the brake pads are first wet and then the car is allowed to stay stationary for a few days.

I think I had a similar sound. I would hear it only when turning round a corner.

The sound would also disappear after some time, so I hope it's no big deal.
