parking light prob.

Hey dave, on my CLK, the driver side inner small round lamp (i guess it's the parking light) stopped working completely. It's not the bulb, because we went to mercedes and tried three new bulbs. The fuses are all fine. I'm guessing that it's a wiring issue....any ideas???? Is this a common problem, or have you seen it before? All the other lamps work fine.

Also, when the "lamp defective" comes on in the display, there appears 2 small overlapping squares in the display above and to the right of where the mileage is.

Thx!

The squares show that there is a fault message, in this case the lights malfuction message.

I assume your vehicle is out of warranty ?

Make sure the connector for the bulb isn't melted. I haven't seen anything like this, whenever that light stops working, it's always the bulb as far as I've seen. It might end up being a bad headlamp assembly, but I don't know for sure. It's hard to diagnose a problem with the car being in Texas.

It is out of warranty.

There is no power going to the plug when the light is on.

All the fuses are good? Make sure of that. If so, then you've most likely got a broken wire somewhere.

I've seen the sockets crack. You may want to look at it closely.
