E63 Engine Issues

I have a 2007 E63 that I have owned for a year and that has just over 11,000 miles. About a month ago I noticed a noise coming from the engine when I accelerate. The techs at the dealership have pulled the engine and found some major rubbing within one of the cylinders. Has any one heard of any issues such as this with the E63.

The only issues so far with the M156 (63) have been minor issues that are relatively normal for a new engine design.

These are software issues, minor air leaks in the intake manifold, oil cooler hose (ML63 only) and a few have reported lifter noises (haven't seen any myself).

Considering it's a completely new engine of such a high performance level, it is pretty reliable (as it should be!)

Any internal engine wear issue (especially cylinder bore wear) is extreamly uncommon for any MB engine. I'd be interested to know the outcome of your problem and see any pictures you may have.

I am planning on going down to the dealership and physically see the rubbing and the rods that they are wanting to replace as a remedy to this issue. They have pictures of both and I will post them once I speak with them again.
