Had check engine Light on S600.. I hooked my AutoTap up to the obdii port and it said Secondary Air Injection Pump fail. Not too bad of a job to get off. Need to remove the Washer tank and tie the overflow tank back out of the way.. 3 torque head bolts 1 elec. connector and pull one hose off and its out..
Hooked 12 volts to it and it didnt run. Took it apart and the lower bearing was tight. Pulled the dust caps off the ball bearings and packed them with wheel bearing grease. It works !.. Cleared the codes with the AutoTap and all is well again..

Make sure you replace the relay for the air pump. There known to stick and cause the pump to run all the time.

Good point.. Maybe that is what wore it out..I will try to find the relay and check out the points in it..
