C32 battery draining after key-off

I have a 2002 C32 and the battery drains down overnight on random occasions. A couple questions -
1. Anyone know a good tech in Nothern Illinois/southern Wisconsin? We've had it to ElmBrook Mecedes in Waukesha three times with no result and they have no idea where to look.
2. Anyone know what the root cause may be? We've unpluged the passenger control and thought that worked for a few months but the problem surfaced again.

Other electronic issues that may be related -
a. SOS triggers iteslf for no reason from time-to-time - not fixed
b. Seat heaters stopped working (twice) - not fixed
c. Steering wheel position adjustment system stopped working - not fixed
d. An emmisions related fan relay went out but was fixed.

The car works and looks great otherwise. Out of warrenty with 129K mikes. The dealer offerd us $8k to trade it in. In general, to get this type of offer the C32's must be junk.

Is the drivers side seat control module still plugged in? Has it been replaced?
How old is the battery? How many times has it been drained?

The seat driver seat modual is still plugged in. It is original. I just found another forum sujesting that that is the problem. I'm guessing you feel the same way!

The other forum noted the e-class (211) seat modual fit, if swaped as a pair, and are more reliable than the 203 c-class parts. Any comment relative to that?

I've had this happen about 25 times. I have two batteries (thanks to the dealer) and I switch them back and forth. My trikle charger is getting a workout. I also carry a jump pack and jumper cables. All this gets to go in the backseat. I learned the hard way that you can't open the trunk when the battery is down.

There are numerous threads running around about the seat control module issues. But it sounds like the modules are your problem. Just do a current draw test and unplug the modules 1 by 1.

Your right, there are several threads. Here is a link to my lastest test results -

Thanks for getting involved, looks like the seat control modual is the smoking gun. Maybe it's made by Lucas.
