2nd Gear Start is Wrong for my 1980 300Sd - How do I fix it?
My newly acquired and recently awakened ( 4 year sleep) will not start off in 1st gear, making it excrutiatingly slow off the line. It did start in 1st when I first got it, but it stopped doing that at the end of the first day of driving. Trans is full. Vacuum is not perfect and door locks don't work (they did at first). Trans shifts a little firmly (not extremely so) but does not slip or otherwise run poorly. Any help/advice will be appreciated.
