380SLC Heating system

Hi All,
I'm home on leave for the holidays, and I just went out to get the car out of the garage, and lo and behold, the battery was dead, so I charged it up (It's been 16 months since I was last home) and started her up. Runs real nice, except for the heat and the power steering. My ride is a 1981 380SLC. Next to the thermostat there is a heating tube with a valve on it, it was closed so I opened it and nothing happened. I trace the tube and it dead ends with a plug. Where could I find a diagram of the heating system (which in my 4 years of ownership have never used)? Is there an online diagram somewhere?
My second problem is the power steering, I checked the fluid level and it is good, the charger is getting mechanical as well as electrical power to it, any ideas? I hope this one is because it has been freezing here in WI for the last two months.
Please give me a ring,
Dan

Look for 2 heater hoses going into the fire wall, it sounds like someone has disconnected the heater core, if the hoses are not hook up you might have a leaking heater core (why else would someone disconnect it).

Is the power steering not working at all? On my 450SLC there was a chronic fluid leak MB made a kit (seal and gaskets) to fix the pump and reservoir.
