Rough idle
I have a '86 560SEL that idles rough when started cold, and it will hesistate when accelerating. Once the coolant temp. needle rises above the 80 C mark and hits normal operating temperature, everything smooths out and pick up will be good.
Three areas I was told to look at were: The fuel filter, the ignition system, and the engine vacuum system, controlling the EGR. Does this sound right? If the engine smoothes out once warm, how could this be a fuel filter or ignition system problem? Thanks
