Hesitation on M111......

When revving the M111 (Kompressor) engine, there is a slight hesitation when revving past 3,000 RPM. As soon as it hits 3,000 RPM, it sounds like it's hitting the rev limiter for a second, then just keeps on revving as normal. There is no hesitation at all when driving, car drives fine, but it's just weird that it has that hesitation when revving in park. Any ideas as to why it hesitates?

Maybe it is the torque converter protection. While in park, there is too much rpm difference in the torque converter that engine rpm needs to be limited for not to do the torque converter any harm.
