Unhappy E320cdi SMOKING!!!

E320cdi on 1999 130k miles when taking off or kick down it smokes bad i know diesel give a puff but this is continous black & when taking off slow it gives blue & black smoke,I have changed oil,fuel filter 3months ago used 10w/40 magnetic oil the car does drive ok there is no power loss or oil loss if anyone has any idea please tell me.

Have you had the car inspected, who has been doing the service?

Also, you are probably better off with a different oil for that car.

It sounds like it may be an issue with the injectors.

Changing motor oil has no effect on fact your car is running rich.

All you can do is take it to a specialist.

Smoke in a diesel is an indicator of rich running, look at the air filter to make sure it isn't clogged up as a start. Although, you did say black and blue, which could be oil burning. Does the car have any cold weather long crank time issues?

it's fine to start up drives fine maybe its the turbo on its way out but it still has a good pull on it

Why do you think the turbo is dying? Does it sound bad? These cars have pretty advanced OBD, so it should simple to figure out.

Could be the seal in the turbo thats failing. With a failed seal the turbo will operate but it will cause smoke as oil is getting into the intake air. It will get worse as time goes on but as long as the bearings are OK it will operate. Some causes of seal failure are wrong type of oil, low oil level, Overheating, and operating without a proper air filter element.
