Question CLK W209 Convertible Mechanism

I have a W209 CLK500 Cabriolet. There is a rattle noise coming from behind the rear seat and I suspect it is part of the convertible top mechanism. In fact, the right corner piece (the piece that flips up when the top is down) of the tonneau cover is scratched up which makes me believe it is rubbing against something, but I can't find anything that it might be rubbing against. Any way, that piece looks like is has a spring in it and so I wondered if that was adjustable. The service department has had a look at it, and can't figure anything out, but it's getting worse. Any ideas? THANK YOU!
