1997 c-280
1997 c-280 Transmission issue need help!

Hi just wondering if any one has had this same problem with them, all gears are good other than 2nd going in to 3rd hits really hard unless i'm easy on the gas, also i want to change the fluid can any one tell me where the dip is for it thanks alot in advance....

It changes all the time
IIRC MB put the 722.6 in all the units after 1996 which means " YOU'RE SCREWED". A trans fluid change might help, but be sure to use the MB factory fluid. If you try using fluid from Cheapo-Mart, you can kiss that tranny good bye.

Yeah sounds like you used el cheapo fluid. Get the proper ATF fluid that Benz specifies. I had some friends with your model year that had trouble with his brakes. Turns out cheap **** got DOT 3 fluid from Kragens instead of the DOT 4 fluid specified by MBZ and his hard driving is cooking his brake fluids. Buy cheap buy twice.
