Dear All, need help. I have just found that in my E280T 4Matic 97' vibration absorber part no. A112 035 13 00 has just broken bown - what could have happened (reason for it). I do not want to put a new one without knowing what could be the reason. I was lately driving in a long higway trips - 15 to 20 hours. Car now is having about 300 000km - there is still also a problem with engine (it seams to choke).
Thanks in advance for Your help.

Here in the states, the early M112 engines have had bad harmonic balancers (I assume that is what yours is broken) and the dealers replaced them for free with updated parts. It was just a bad part. However, there have been reports of the updated part are starting to fail again.

Yours is an updated part. So sometime early in its life, yours was also replaced.

So inquire in your country's dealer to see if they can help. I assume you are in a country outside of USA. We do not get the M112 on the E-class until 1998.
