Is there a way to see the day or date that an MB was built on?

(If you need a model, it would be for a late model E-320).

Hi. I have a 2000 E430 4Matic. I know my build date was Dec 24 1999. This is printed, in German, in my owner's manual service record booklet (you would see it in European Style dating 24.12.99, for example). Also, if you are serviced at an MB dealer, there should be info at the top of your invoices like "Build Date" "Delivery Date", etc. The invoices from my dealership are like that at any rate.

I always worried if I may have purchased a car built on a Friday afternoon because everyone on the assembly line would be in a rush to get home. Yours was built on Christmas Eve! Guess what? Christmas Eve 1999 was a Friday! I have a 2000 E320 4Matic and I will check the build date tomorrow. I hope is was not built on New Year's Eve 1999 which was also a Friday!

Your local Mercedes Service dept. can tun your VIN and provide you with build date info. if you ask.

I never really worried about it being built on a Friday. 4matics are built in Graz, Austria, and to them every afternoon is a Friday afternoon (I can say this because I'm 1/2 Austrian...) I was surprised to learn though that they would have been working on Christmas Eve...

Regardless, she's got 30k miles and just nearly got me pulled over doing a buck on the way into work this morning...

Call Mercedes USA customer relations, give the advisor your vehicle's VIN number and he/she will tell you the build date.
