would CarFax tell me previous owner?
I haven't pulled one for years, and a dealer SA pulled one on my new (to me) car to confirm it was clean, but I ended up getting only one key with the car, and thought it might be worthwhile to check with previous owner to see if he/she still has another key.....

no; bought it an auto auction. former lease car sold by Daimler Credit.
yeah, I know. I probably saved $5000+ off the price a dealer would have wanted, but I do have a great SA at the dealership and he had reported to me that each of two auction cars I had asked him about had clean service records with MB....now that I think of it, he didn't have access to Carfax.

Yeah, I'd be happy to do the searching if I could get a name, but my car was leased, so I'd prolly not ever find name of lessee.
