I posted this on the E class forum. However, no responses in more than a week. I can't believe that this particular problem has not happened to anyone in the forum.....but here it goes. The rear headrests of my '96 E320 are stuck in the up position. The lowering button activates the"motor', but the rests do not go down. I have tried pushing the headrests while activating the button, but that doesn't work. Any other suggestions? Can I lower the headrests manually?

I'm not totally sure, but in the W124 the head rests were activated by a vacuum. Check the vacuum hoses behind the panel in the trunk.
