Do Tele Aid modules require reflash?/MCA no sound issue

I've been trying to figure out my no sound issue in my 03Ml 350. Someone suggested to get my Tele Aid module reflashed as it is a common issue resulting from the control unit going into by pass mode. Does this make sense?

Your '03 module needs to be replaced because it's analog and the whole USA cellphone system is now digital. Tele aid not working doesn't affect anything else.

Thanks, I am aware of the upgrade.
But, I don't use teleaid, never have and don't have a phone in the vehicle. I don't need or want tele aid.
My problem stems from a no sound from the MCS. It says no cd player found. The changer is in the d2b loop and powers fine. The svs message reads tele aid service required.

I have read malfunctions may be caused when the teleaid control unit enters by pass mode and the d2b transfer is interrupted creating this issue.

Does this sound right?
