which synth oil to use?
which do you prefer?
('07 c280 4matic, chaning every 5k/6 months)



Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic Motor Oil with SuperSyn Formula
or
Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W-40

Forget about all that--you should only use oil to Mercedes specification MB 229.5

Not all Mobil 1 meets the spec and the "preference" is then the one that does, i.e. 0W-40 European Formula. It's printed on the bottle and if it isn't it doesn't meet the spec.

umm, both of these oils do meet the specs Mercedes MB 229.5...and are on the link you sent.

Am I missing something?

Neither product, as you listed them above, appears on pg 5 of the link Kent provided.

those oils are on the sheet, and it's page 4, not 5.

0 w 40 will never let you down.....has the widest heat/cold range as is OK'd by MB 229.5
