CLK W208 - 230K - Car Wiggles

Hi Everyone,

My dad nearly had an accident the other day because of some serious fault with this car .

Basically when driving at speeds like 40, 60, 70, 80 and 100 the car starts the wiggle left to right then stops and when you put your foot down again it starts to wiggle again left to right. This is continuous and happens every 5 minutes. I've been to 2 garages and they haven't got a clue what it is . They have even plugged in the computer and no luck.

ESP is not OFF
Just got the car serviced end of october.

Anyone here who can help me so I can get the part and repair this please.

I've wasted £150 for just getting it checked

Sounds suspension related. Check tires, rims, inflation, bearings, and every rubber bushing and suspension component front and rear for wear. Dont forget driveline and motor and transmission mounts too.

Thanks for the reply.

I've checked the tyres, rim. Not buckled. Balanced Fully. Not an alignment issue either, inflation checked.

I went to R.M Fensomes in Luton, UK. And they said a nut (bolt) is loose or missing and is causing the car to wiggle left and right while driving :S. So they will have a look next wednesday.

Can a missing bolt even cause this? :S

I'd guess its a worn bushing or slopy wheel bearing before a missing nut.
