Question e500 shift delay

I have an '05 E500 that seems to "hang" in gear a bit, intermitttently. RPMs hod around 2000, when normally it would shift up to keep them @ 1500-1600. Obviously, I can "pop" the throttle a bit and it will shift, but it's clearly not quite right. Has anyone else experienced this?

Both the 5 and 7 speed will intermitantly hold gears longer, the 7 speed is a bit more noticeable. It's usually when driving along a road with incline changes, but it can be for other reasons.

The shift logic take into account things like inclines, trailer recognition, A/C requirements, battery charge requirements, heating requirements, Particulate filter regeneration (Diesel), cat warm up, braking, etc. It's just much more active and noticable with a 7 speed. Don't worry about it.
