I asked the question about color production during a factory tour -i.e. do you only paint black for so many days then another color etc and they told me that hey DO NOT run the paint shop that way. A black car might be followed by any other color.

I smell..................................BS!!!!

Here is what he posted on page 1

The bulletin number is P-B-07.00/28a

I had it done at my dealer also. BTW, part of this bulletin advises the dealer that this could be due to 2 footed drivers; 1 on the brake and 1 on the gas with the inability to synchronise their actions.

I provided this TSB # P-B-07.00/28a to my dealer and they could not find any information on this bulletin. Matter a fact, they told me there was no such bulletin. Any ideas?

Thanks...

The TSB also has to do with a lean running condition and a sulfur smell from the exhaust. Ask to speak with your shop foreman, I had mine done and the smell is gone, performance seems a bit better.

Post It's public information

Some are available at the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website. They have to be safety related to be there. But, it seems that "safety" casts a wide net.

See http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/

You can search for your car, make, model, year, etc. and get recall info, TSB's and much more.

Poke around, there's so9me interesting information there.

I've been told that MB does not release alot of their TSBs and have not found that many on Alldata or the Gov sites.

E-Class-2002 and 2003
CLK-2003
SL-2003 (only VIN numbers after F022312)
SLK-2002 and later (SLK320 only)
I THINK I MAY BE EXPIERENCING A SIMILAR PROBLEM IN A 2001 CLK55.

I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S SOMETHING I DID OR IF I'M IMAGINING IT.

I NOTICED IT STARTED SEVERAL DAYS AGO AFTER I GUNNED THE PEDAL IN 2ND GEAR AND LEFT IT THERE TOO LONG. I THOUGHT I WAS IN AUTOMATIC AND THE RADIO WAS ON SO I CLDNT HEAR THE ENGINE. EVENTUALY THE CAR AUTOMAITCLY KICKED INTO A MORE COMFRTBL GEAR FOR ITSELF.

NOW IT SEEMS THAT OFF THE LINE IT DOESNT HAVE THE PICK UP IT DID WHEN I GOT IT A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. IT ONLY HAS 7K MI. ON IT SO I DONT THINK IT WAS RAN TOO HARD.

***IMPORTANT**** IN AUTOMATIC, WHAT IS TYPICAL RPM MAX BEFORE THE FIRST SHIFT AFTER STOMPING ON THE GAS?

AGAIN, IT SEEMS THAT THERES NOT ENOUGH POWER UP TO ABOUT 2RPM...AFTER THAT THE RPMS RISE TO ABOUT REDLINE BEFORE AUTO TRANSMISSION SHIFTS.

I'M GOING TO TEST DRIVE ANOTHR 2001 55 THIS WEEKEND TO SEE IF I CAN TELL A DIFFERENCE.

ANY IMPUT IS DEFFINITELY APPRECIATED.

1999 CLK430 slooow pickup

I just got a certified CLK430 from an authorized dealer few months ago. It has the curved shape transmission (PNRD4321).

The low and mid end acceleration 30~50MPH is poorer than what I expected. When I punch the gas, the up-shift from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th does not happen immediately and I can feel the LAggg. I have to manually down shift my car from D to 3rd or 2nd gear to force the higher RPM and then the transmission will shift up. I am very frustrating about the CLK performance. My old Maxima (190hp) can accelerate faster than the CLK430.

I live in NYC and always experience bumper to bumper traffic on BQE & LIC. That may make my car adapted to the driving style. Can I disable the adaptive feature?

How can I fix this problem? May be I can ask the dealer to re-map / reprogram the transmission program? Which dealer in NYC will do it ? Silver Star in LIC has no idea.
Or
Purchase the after-market performance chip and hopefully it will not void the warranty.

Thanks

I am taking mine into the dealer Monday. I copied everything that was discussed on this thread to take in.

Here is another thread that may help. https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=43703

Good Luck.

Dave,
I own a slk32 amg , 2002, 15.000miles.
I have not felt any hesitation so far since last days.
It just a matter of miliseconds but is too much for a car like this.
What shoul I do next?
Thanks
