Help 1987 420 SEL stalls and dies
My 1987 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL stalls for no apparent reason and won't start for at least 5 minutes or more. This happens anytime if the car is cold or warmed up. The last time it stalled in my driveway, I pored a little gas in the fuel distribution area and it started and ran till the gas ran out, I did that again and it did the same-thing. I also noticed the fuel pumps are not running when this happens. I think it's my ECU/ECM or maybe the fuel pump relay. This would would only happen once or twice a day now it is more frequent to where I can't drive one block without it shutting off. Dose anyone have any ideas that can help me? before I start replacing parts I don't need. The car has 209,000 miles on it. Thanks for all the help.

If no other symptoms, like dash warning lights, I'd start with the fuel pump relay. Pull it out, take it apart, and resolder all the connections.
If you have warning lights when this happens, it may be the OVP.
The FPR is located in the engine compartment, between the two firewalls. It will most likely have "KPR" on it, and maybe the number 003 545 01 05 on it.
The OVP is the square module with the ato fuse on top right next to the FPR.
I know where you can get a good used FPR for 35 bucks delivered

Thank You.. I did not remember any light coming on when this happened. So I took the FPR apart and re soldered each spot one by one and guess what.
That solved my problem .. . Hey thanks a million..
