Transmission Question
Please help guy's!
I rebuilt the transmission on my 1987 E260 (722.4) and have since re-installed it and it smokes real BAD. It's white smoke and for sure tranny fluid. It did this same thing just before I burnt the original transmission up.
What would cause it to be burning transmission fluid?
How can I fix it?
Thank you much,
Tony M

The oil is being sucked up the vacuum line from the modulator valve into the intake manifold. disconnect the hose from the transmission to be sure. You will need a new modulator. Easy fix and a common problem.
