Abrupt speed shifting - 2011 C300

I have had my new 2011 C300 for just over a month and I am wondering if anybody else has noticed this problem. When I turn the engine on and move from P to D and accelerate, the transmission shifts speed but the shift is very abrupt. The shift happens almost instantly after the car starts moving. My previous 2007 C230 did not have this problem and I am not sure if there is something wrong or if I just have to get use to it.
I have the car set in the Economical mode instead of the Sport mode and I don't have any more problems afterwards with the speed shifting, the abrupt shift is only the first shift. Thank you for your comments.

Going back to my original question. The reason I asked this question is that the abrupt speed shift happens at a very low rate of speed and it happens almost immediately as the car starts moving. The abrupt speed shift happens without hitting the accelarator very hard, I started to notice it because I have to drive slow getting out of the garage.

Sounds to me like your transmission is having an issue.
Have you shown it to the dealer?

Your car is new, why worry ?. Anything is NOT normal, take it to your dealer, describe the problems, have the dealer sort it out, That's warranty for. Good luck.

If memory serves right, there was a TSB issued that acknowledged this 1st shift anomaly when the car is cold. It's normal after that 1st shift, correct?
I believe what you're describing is exactly what my 2010 does, but it's only the first cold shift. I'll research again and advise.

I think this is what you're describing.... (1st attachment)
The problem that I recalled was in the 2 to 3 shift (slip) when cold, and only once. That's in the second attachment.

IDK if the regular C's have a C/S/M mode, but if it starts up in second gear and you floor it, it downshifts to first, the problem is the first gear ratio is higher and your torque converter has to converter your torque into horsepower, and adjusts to the down shifrted gear WHILE accelerating

W204s have 722.9 trans (7 speed). The optional package 315 Dynamic handling offers C/S/M functionality, but in C the car starts in 1st. Unlike our C55s with 722.6 trans that starts in 2nd.
