hi guys is the water pump on a 03 c240 hard to change does it have a timing belt or chain im trying to service my car without going to the dealer im pretty handy so any ideas will be helpful in the water pump replacement and any other services my car has 83,000 and i want to keep it running good i never done any services since i bought it other than oil changes every 3,000 miles let me know whats recommended thanks guys.. any advices will be apreciated.

 

its pretty simple. just remove the serpentine belt, and the guide pulley on the water pump. then removed the secondary air injection valve bracket at the top of the water pump because there is a bolt behind it. then just get all the bolts out. some may be difficult to see. replace it and adjust you coolant level.

 

so my car has a chain not a belt

 

the timinh chain is behind the water pump you dont have to worry about that. it is belt driven by the alternator belt
