1987 300td wagon

300TD wagon fuel leak

I recently bought a 1987 300TD wagon with the six cylinder engine. Over the last few days it has been hard to start. The engine will finally catch but once shut down the problem arises again. Looked at the engine when it was running and noticed fuel on the top of the injection pump. Lines are tight. Seems to be coming from the fittings that have the "gear" like nut held by metal clips. Any suggestions?

BTW, that engine has 5 cylinders, not 6.

The plastic lines tend to leak around the injection pump and fuel filter mount. The o rings dry out and start to leak after a while. They aren't that expensive to replace just a pain in the butt!
