I got my c320 coupe 4 weeks ago. My coupe's auto transmission shifts differently from my previous car. Seems like there is a little pause inbetween the upshifts. The pause is very short, only half a second. The feeling is like no gear is engaged or dropping the clutch very slowly when you drive a stick. When this happen the rpm will not drop (stay there for half sec) til the next gear is engaged. This doen't happen all the time. This could happen when the engine is cold or hot. My car has 1000 miles. I would say the transmission is pretty smooth. Is this normal? Could it be possible that the transmission is doing this to prevent a harsh shift. Please help. Thanks.

 

Obviously your car is under warranty.
Let your dealer perform the adaptation procedure for shifting problems.

 

Could you please provide an explanation of what you mean with *adaptation procedure* since some dealers know less about these cars than this forum does. We might have to explain it to them and it would be better if we actually knew what was involved in this.
