2003 c230 kompressor - O2 sensor - clarification
hi
I am a new bie....any help would be appreciated.
I have the CEL on and it is the pre-cat or upstream O2 sensor. My mechanic gave me a quote for 205$ and dealer for 315$. I found on amazon for 88$ and 102 $ down stream and upstream...
http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-16272-Ox...=pd_sim_auto_1
http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-16268-Ox...=pd_sim_auto_1
Readin through some of earlier posts, someone mentioned the wire is short and connectors are wrong on the upstream sensor... so should i just buy the down stream sensor (i need upstream) and the problem is solved or do i need some modifications on the connectors if i buy down stream sensor..please help me or point to where i can buy the correct one...
thanks in advance
ravi

I don't know if yours is the same as the 2005, but I picked up the Bosch one that ends in 171 from amazon. It's a 5-wire heated one. Hopefully it works. I have yet to install it b/c I was mislead into thinking it could be done from the top of the engine bay. I looked and unless you're a little ant, there's no way the plug can be pulled from the top.
The plug (other end of the o2 sensor not attached to the cat) faces towards the front of the car and is located beneath the oil filter. It's cramped. There's no space. I'll have to replace it from the bottom. If you hear about anyone saying you can do it from the top, it's BS.
Good luck. I'm posting updates on my own thread here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...code-help.html
Check there for updates if you wish. I have to wait until the rain stops before I can replace the O2 sensor. Here's another link for your reference:
