DIY transmission swap; can I drive to dealer for DAS relearn?
It looks like I will swapping a rebuilt transmission into my '02 C32 (W203). I am told the mechanical procedure is straightforward but I will need to have the DAS computer connected to my car to perform a relearn/adaptation so the new tranny will play nice. If so, can I drive the car 20 miles to my dealer or do I need to tow it from my shop so as not to damage the new transmission? Thanx!

It should work fine straight away, it's better to get it reset at a dealer but you can just drive it gently at it will relearn slowly. It'll be fine to drive it to the dealer.

it'll only be in limp mode if something is wrong or there were codes before the swap. make sure you flush the transcooler and lines if you're changing the transmission, if you dont have a record of a radiator change then get a new one as it's the number 1 cause of transmission failure in C32's

Thanks again. I am changing this transmission because it was destroyed by glycol contamination; I have already changed the radiator. I will definitely flush the cooler and lines before connecting them. Thanx again!
