Oil change on 98 E430

I got my Liquid vac from ebay yesterday and want to change the oil this saturday.
I also got the filter already but do I need any special tool to unscrew the filter? Will one of the oil filter wrenches from AutoZone work or is this a dealer trip? Also I want to use a 10W40 mobil 1. All I could find is the 0W40. My car is 43000 miles and wanted to get a thicker oil for summer. Is this an overkill or is 0w40 enough.

oh yeah it's an over kill. Unless you are constantly hi-revving your car 40wt is just not practical. I stick with 0w-30w from Mobil 1.

As for the cap. You can use one of those oil canister remover, but I would put something around the cap if the tool doesn't have any rubber grip. Or else it will scratch the MB cap.

I usually use a towel around the cap, and slip the wrench over it to loosen or tighten the cap.

I agree, go with Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil. As for the weight, you can also check on their website for tips: Mobil 1

Thanks for the replies. The Liquid Vac worked great. What a clean job. I put a bit too much of oil initially and having the Liquid Vac was very easy to correct it. I used Mobil1 0w40. It maybe is an overkill but I don't mind extra high temp protection. Besides it says for european cars on the bottle
