1991 500 SL Radio Code
I am new to this blog, so sorry if this question has been answered prior, but does anyone know what the code "E 3" means when attempting to reactivate the radio after the radio has been off the battery for the winter? The radio is the factory installed Becker brand.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Becker radios have a security code to reduce thief potential when power is interrupted. If the car has the original radio or one exchanged by MB or Becker you can go to the dealer, show proof of ownership and they can look up the code.
If the radio was bought from a third party you can send/fax proof of ownership and serial number to Becker NA and they will send you the code. There is a fee I believe.
It's possible you have the code. The code is on a small card included with the OM packet. Also, sometimes people write the code on one of the OM packet documents. And finally if you have any dealer service records in is sometimes printed in the Misc Box with no label just a 5 digit number.
