change transmission fluid every time you service yr car?

Is it a good idea? I was told that if you change the transmission fluid more frequently, yr car will run smoother.

Comments?

I dunno maybe you might ask the technical forum about this. I used to do this on my C36. I used to do a coolent flush and change the tranny fluid, filter and gasket once a year. I figured it cant hurt right? I used Mobil 1 ATF and went to the dealer for the other parts. BTW tranny only takes 4-5 quarts if u do it yourself. It is quite easy.

Transmission fluid should be good for about 50,000 miles, unless there is an internal problem of course.

This thread reminds me of my uncle who bought another new Cadillac each time the ash tray needed to be emptied. To each his own, but this sounds like refined resource overkill.
