Window Switch
This question seems pretty basic but I must ask... I own a 1991 190E 2.3 Benz... and the front passenger side window switch is gettng shoved into the console and often wont put the window up. I'm assuming the contact is getting dirty and it's falling in... How do I take the console apart so I can access it? Also, are there any repair manuals like Chiltons/Haynes that can outline these maintenance issues so I can fix myself? Any advice would be great. Thanks!!!

You do not have to take the console out, it looks a tight fit, but the switch should come out. Use a small screw driver and pull the switch from each side little at each end. If you decide to open the switch to clean the contacts, be careful, there is a small ball bearing and spring inside the switch that can be easily lost. On mine, I had to bend the contact piece. Spry a little of WD40, after you put it together, use a volt meter (continuity check) to verify the switch is working properly.

Thanks Benz Dude - I'll try that. The only other issue is that it's kind of starting to fall down in the console... but I'll start with your suggesting and hopefully it'll come together. Are there any manuals I can find for the ear 90's 190s??? I seem to find some that cut off at '88... thanks. nick
