Trans in Limp Mode, p0500 p0720 p1747

this is on the 2000 c230

started when my sister spilled something on her shifter, this has been replaced with a known good one, although its slightly better, it still is not driveable.

I have autoengenuity and cannot connect to the transmission , the ESP module was able to be read and thats giving error codes that it cannot connect to the transmission either.

I replaced the plug on the transmission with a new on from MB. it was filled with oil inside. The actual transmission module I am not able to open it to see if its filled with oil, there was some outside but not like I have seen from pics from other cars.

I was able to clear the codes up top the first time, but now I am getting "Misc" codes from the powertrain, and not able to connect to the trans.

Also the BAS/ESP light is on. And the display wont show what gear the shifter is in, there is just a green box where "P" or "D" should be in.

what I dont know is if the car was having symptoms before the spill and the spill was just the straw that broke the camel's back. My sister said it was driving "fine", but its her first car, and you know how teen girls are.

what should be my next steps be?

conductor plate maybe?

thanks for any help
