I have RFT's on my 2011 E-350 Bluetec. MB says I can drive 50 miles when flat provided light load. 18 miles if car is heavily loaded. Let's say I'm in the Utah or Nevada desert. Nothing around for 200 miles and it's 125 degrees. RFT's aren't going to save me. I went to the MB dealer today. Price for the TIREFIT is around $350 for the compressor and $150 for the fluid. The parts person suggested I go to Walmart and purchase "slime" in the automotive department for around $50. He carries slime in his motorcycle for just such emergencies. Has anyone had any experience actually filling any type of flat tire with any type of "liquid tire patch?" If $500 is going to save me from dying I'm all for it. However if there's another solution I'd like to hear about it.
