Yesterday I was cruising along the highway, listening to the CD changer, when suddenly the COMAND unit made a popping sound a shut down completely. After a moment of shock, I pressed the 'power' button and it turned back on and resumed playing my CD.

Has anyone experienced this? Could I have a short or some other issue?

I had this happen. The COMAND stores the event as a D2B error. It has only happened to me a couple of times. After it happens the COMAND reboots. Almost like a D2B reset.
