2002 c230 kompressor overheating... Please help

2002 c230 kompressor overheating... Please help

I have noticed I dont hear the fan anymore, and I am noticed it is overheating. If I put on the fan for outside air, on heat it cools down (old trick from older cars). While it runs it tends to run around 80 or so. But if it sits in idle after drivig it a while it begins to heat up and almost touches the line before the 120 line. thats hot and dangerous if you ask me.

What is a safe operating temp for this car/engine, and what could be the reason for this issue? i was wondering if maybe a fuse was blown, or some electronic component.

Anyone else have this happen to them , or anyone thats techy that can give me some guidance?

Could be the fan motor is dead or could be just a fuse.

Check the fuses first... always look for the easy fix first!

If the fuse is OK use a circuit tester on the fan power lead... if it is getting juice the fan is shot.

Still an easy replacement, just more $$$.

As long as you are not in the red you should not do any damage to the car, but running hot can degrade gaskets and seals so you do want to get this taken care of soonest.

So I replaced fuse 51 from what i think is the right fuse (?) and fan still didn't come on. i think i need to call a mobile tech to the house to figure this out... any tips to tell them? for some reason when people come to where i live they like coming up with all kinds of expensive diagnostics which make no f'ing sense to me and I'm not even a mechanic. One said my tire alignment caused my check engine light to go on and that i needed a full computer diagnostics to figure out why...
