oil leaking from top of dip stick

oil leaking from top of dip stick
I determined that oil is leaking from my dip stick. I have done a few searches online and one possible cause might be the crank case ventilation. I removed the PCV and it doesn't appear to be clogged or stuck. I don't know what else could be wrong. My car died on me a few days ago going to work. i've posted this thread on other forums but no help. please i need some advice.

Ya I agree with Benzover at that possability. Have you tried running the engine with the PCV loose to see how much is leaking? A broken ring will make alot of difference in compression also. Test each cylinder to see if you have a low one.
On the other hand,140K seems a little low on the mileage to have this issue. But things can happen.
