My E300D often stalls while accelerating and at random higher speeds. Also noticed bubbles in the clear fuel return line. Anyone familiar with a cause for this? Are the air bubbles nornal?

Answer

No, the air bubbles are not normal, it is a symptom of a fuel system air leak.

If I have a fuel sys air leak and no leaking fuel signs it will have to be on the suction side some where right? Where is the best place to start...tank exit area? The clear lines seem to all have bubbles except injecter pmp discharge line. Forgot to mention that when the car is off for several hours it will start and run a second and quit...then won't start again without a lot of cranking.
