DIY water pump replacement in 2007 CLK 350?

Is this a difficult job? I am very experienced with Audi/VW service and have done *MANY* water pumps/timing belts ect in most modern Audi platforms including the lots of fun 2.7tt so I am very familiar with the process and having looked over alldatapro's information it appears to be very straightforward.

(This is a rough summary as I dont have alldata open infront of me right now)
1. Remove aux water pump electrical connection. / drain coolant.
2. Remove serpentine belt
3. Remove bolts for water pump.
4. Replace water pump and gasket with specific torque pattern for bolts.
5. Put everything else back on the motor, fill with coolant.

Is there anything *IMPORTANT* I am missing that's not outlined in alldata? For example, in the Audi C4 V6 motor, you have to open a drain port at the back of the head to get air out of the cooling system or you run a very good chance of overheating the motor because that air bubble will not clear on its own. So, is there anything else to this job that isn't specifically called out for?

Thanks!

If you've done a Audi 2.7tt then this is a piece of cake.

Nothing special to worry about, very straight forward and nothing tricky about bleeding, just fill the coolant and it'll bleed itself with the heater on and engine running.

That's what I figured. However, the dealership in Greenwich CT decided to honor it as a goodwill repair given all of the times my GF took it in to her dealer for a squeak that suspiciously sounded like the water pump to me, but they screwed around and "shimmed" an idler pulley, "shaved" a belt, and replaced the tensioner.

Thanks for the reply though!

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
did a clk320 waterpump; just mark out the bolts as they vary in sizes at certain spots.
