270 CDI Starting problem

Hello there

This is the first time I have posted a question!
I have a 2004 CLK 270 cdi.
Occasionally it struggles to start, it gives you the impression it is out of fuel.
Eventually it will start, it appears the fuel is draining back.
Is this a common fault? if so, what is the cure.
I look forward to any response to my problem!

Smile Repaired

Hello
Just letting you know I have cured the fault.
I changed the three fuel feed pipes, one from the filter to the the top pump,
one from the injector rail to the lower pump, and the one from the lower pump to the top pump.
The old pipes looked damp around the union fittings and the pipes were very brittle.
They cost me £93 English Pounds from Mercedes and now the vehicle starts first time.
Now for more happy motoring again!!!!!!!!!!!!
