Dead tail lamp

Hi All

I have a dead left tail light. I checked all the bulbs and replaced the dead bulb, but no luck. No sign of any burnt wiring or melted holder. Sometimes the DIC warns "check rear lamp" and sometimes not

I don't think there are any fuses Any ideas?

Thanks for any help

FYI: Domestic brass base bulbs will sometimes fail to function due to resistance.

You need to check for voltage on the center contact pin, if there is none the issue is a damaged wire.

If the Rear SAM senses a circuit failure it will shut off the output circuit.

On the 204 if you replaced the correct bulbs you need to be careful that the contact Plate has not melted. If this has you will need to check the rear SAM as well. I have seen these fail before.

To perform the test reccomended you would need an SDS to override the protection logic in the SAM.

Thanks for the help guys. The lamp has now started working without any further attention. Bizarre. Maybe my fiddling removed a bit of corrosion or moisture

When you replaced the bulb, was the key on? Once the Rear SAM has circuit protection active, you need to cycle the key to reset it.

Probably, to see if a new bulb worked.
