1998 C 280
Fuel Problem

I have a 1998 C 280. Starts fine, runs for 5 minutes until it heats up, then shuts down - no fuel is getting to engine. Bad Fuel Pump ? When it first happened on the road, it seemed to run out of gas (it has gas). Just before it shuts down, it smells like burnt something. No error codes listed. Cools down and then starts fine, runs for 5 min. Endless loop !

Fuel pump ? Fuel injection ? Any ideas ? Thank you, Raul

I would suspect:one of the following.
* failed crank shaft position sensor
* the K40 is bad.
* the fuel pump has been superseded at least three times. 000 470 63 94
* the engine control module is defective.

I can't give you a part number for the engine control module, it is matched to your VIN#.
It has been superseded many times, and requires dealer programming to install.
