Question Oil Filter Foot Pounds

Hi all...new to the forum, I have a 2007 C280 that I'm getting ready to change the oil for the first time in this car myself. I have all the filters etc but my question is, how tight, (foot pounds) do I tighten the oil filter?

Thanks!!

OK thanks! I saw on some of the threads on You Tube, to use a torque wrench and tighten to x amount of lbs and each thread was giving a different # for the same model!

People overthink these things way too much! Just get it real snug, not overtight, otherwise it's a ***** to get it off again next time.

yea makes sense...others seem to be making it too technical, doesn't seem to be much different than stardard vehicles.

But snug plus 1/4 turn works ok too.

Make sure you oil the o-ring on the new filter. If they go on dry they are tough to get off for the next oil change.
