C200 Elegance (2002)
Coolant for C200 (Year 2002)

I am struggling to work out how I mix the coolant for my car. I have brought some XStream G48 which says consult the manual of the car for the dilution proportions, yet there is nothing in any of my service books for the car. I presume I don't just pour it neat into the car???

Can I mix it with tap water?

M-B E300
Antifreeze + H2O

Never run straight antifreeze. The concentrated type, whether GL5 or G48 (or anything else, for that matter) should be mixed 50/50 with distilled water -- spend a dollar and get a gal. at the grocery store. Anything over 60% antifreeze will interfere with heat transfer.

Pre-diluted coolant is often available. Read the label, and make sure it meets M-B requirements. Prestone generic is out.
