W210 (E Class) Rear Brake Pads

On Saturday I had my MY01 E Class for brake service. To my utter surprise, the rear pads did not have any pad wear sensors at all. I thought they had wear sensors on them. What's the true story on these pads???

Rear pad sensors....

Did you look on both sides? My '01 C320 has a pad sensor on the right rear only. I would be surprised (as you are) if the E class doesn't have them as well.

According to the etch, none on any of the 4 rear pads. My tech's really good, but I really find that hard to swallow. I plan to go under the car sometime this week to find out - unless, of course I get positive confirmation from here or somewhere else. .

On my 1999 E430 the right rear is fitted with a wear sensor. Strage, did M-B drop the rear sensor with the MY2000 update?
