w208 vs w209

i just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the level of quality since the chrysler merger.

my question is if there is a significant difference between the quality of a w208 vs a w209.
i have heard that the newer generation clk is not as dependable as the older genration clk?

it would be great if an actual tech such as mbtech208 could answer it but everyone's opinion would be great.

I've had both. To be fair you must compare the 98' 208 320 or 99' w208 430 to the new 209's as it's a first year production car. I've owned a 99, 00 and 01 clk 430 and a 03 and 04 clk 500, MB is to damn slow getting well known TSB's for the 209 implemented at the assembly vs waiting for the dealer to do it and having the customer be inconvenienced...then they wonder why their initial quality ratings suck.
