no engine check light

I took my 1992 400e for its smog chk, passed co & hc test very well, but inspection revealed it did not have an engine check light. I took out the instrument cluster to chk the bulb, no bulb or wire there, only that it been tapped over. Now it has passed smog checks in the passed. Does anybody know anything? This car has a sticker under the hood that says something like it complies with all federal regs in Canada.

no engine check light

I got the answer from the Burear of automotive repair, that my 400e is not a California car but rather a Federal car that didn't have an engine check lights. They are sending me all the supporting documents to get my smog cert.

Sounds like my neighbour's 'old fashioned' solution to fix my cel.
Pull the cel globe out...
