Remote locking intermittent (W203)
My C270 CDI (2002) will sometimes not respond when I try to lock or unlock the car with the key. I push lock/unlock and nothing happens. I have the three button key (Lock, Unlock and boot).
I have replaced the battery recently and the red light illuminates when I press the button on both the keys I have. I don't think it is the battery as the problem is intermittent.
The central locking still works from the inside when the car fails to lock with the key. If I open the window and lock the doors with the interior switch and then push the button on the key it usually solves the problem (I then have to hold the lock button in until the window closes).
I find that sometimes, not always, slamming the door will sort the problem out. I think this is just a coincidence as it is an intermittent problem.
Could it be the receiver in the rear view mirror (or is the receiver somewhere else)?
Has anyone had this problem before and what was the fix?

It sounds as if one of the door lock sensors is damaged.
This is a MB dealer only repair, for diagnosis, parts and repair.
