W203 locked in low gear, random message, now won't start!
I have searched the forums and have seen similar problems to mine, I will attempt to describe it in detail - I have an '01 C320 sedan (US) with 81K miles, very well taken care of by previous owners, and this problem has arose. I was backing up when I heard / felt a slight clunk, not all that unusual when shifting from R to D. When I start heading out on the sideroad, I can tell the tranny is "locked" into low gear and the display is flashing random messages like "brake lining low, see shop" and "display fault". So I pulled over and shut the car off and tried to restart, and nothing. The key turns all the way, all electronics come on and everything seems to work, the display doesn't show any fault messages, but no crank at all. I tried my other fob, same thing. I tried to jump start the car, same thing (the battery is dated 2011). I had my wife listen while I tried to crank it over, she heard a slight click whenever I tried. Any ideas on this one?

I strongly suggest MB dealer diagnosis, due to the cost of some of these components.
My best guess would be "in order".

I hope it is not the "MB Wiring Harness Failure".
